Gather the People

"Gather the People! Enter the feast!
All are invited, the greatest and least.
The banquet is ready, now to be shared.
Join in the heavenly feast that God has prepared." -Dan Schutte

"Do not be afraid, I am with you.
I have called you each by name.
Come and follow Me.
I will bring you home.
I love you and you are mine." -David Haas

So, Sunday was my first day back at St. John's in a few weeks. Being home was nice, but I do miss St. John's when I'm home. Mom and I often joke about it. Anyway, at mass this week we sang both "Gather the People" and "You are Mine" which happen to be two of my favorite songs. Sitting in St. John's I feel at home and at peace even when things seem all out of whack elsewhere. That's a nice feeling. I love the community and the music and the preaching (most of the time...there's that one priest I really can't stand). I love that Laura almost always goes to mass with me, that it's not even a question anymore. I love the people I can count on seeing every week. I love baptisms when they bring the baby around and allow everyone to bless him/her. Oh, the things I enjoy...
